Influential Women: JAMIE STREET

My complete admiration for photographer/ mom/ human Jamie Street started when she organized the Peace photograph- and then proceeded to donate 100% of the proceeds to the ACLU. I'll go into what exactly the Peace print is in a minute, but for now here is a fun q+a with Jamie.

It’s Sunday morning, what are you doing?

Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Our life is shaped by our minds.

In what ways do you “give back”?

I always have a hard time budgeting money for donations, so I tend to give as freely as I can with my skills and ability. I love donating photography sessions or photographic prints for auctions that benefit charities near my heart, and I still can't believe how much money we have raised for the ACLU by the recent peace print I shot. (And counting!) I am also short on time (who isn't), so I have been working on activities with my son where we can give back together, whether it's handing out food to the homeless population or helping out local Syrian Refugees. When he gets a little older I look forward to volunteering with him in a more formal capacity! (Come on! <3 <3)

This is the Peace print, Jamie organized this photo with the help of 30 other women on a foggy morning in California. 12x18 prints were sold (we have one!) and 100% of the proceeds went to the ACLU <3 Currently you can find the Peace print at General Store

What is your absolute favorite thing to photograph?

people

In 2011 Jamie threw caution to the wind and left her career in architecture to pursue one in photography, and hasn't looked back since. She lives in southern California with her husband and their two sons, Henry and Townes. They love being outside and traveling!

You can find Jamie's website here

and her instagram here

Thanks for reading along guys! I know you'll find Jamie just as rad as I do.
